Originally designed as a transatlantic ocean liner, the HMHS Britannic was the world's largest hospital ship when it was struck by a German naval mine and sank in 1916. There were 1066 people on board, and 30 were killed. The wreck was explored by Jacques-Yves Cousteau via submarine in 1975.
